The SIFF EXPLORE special training camp for short video unit jointly organized by Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) and Shanghai Vancouver Film School will be officially launched on August 9, which is an important part of the SIFF short video unit activity series, as well as a key move of the short video unit to further encourage and support outstanding young creators to pursue their dreams.

The SIFF Exploration special training camp offers courses on “New Youth Hot Theme Video Creation and Proposal Training", and invites famous teachers at home and abroad to provide instructions, laying emphasis on both theory and practice. The special training camp will invite outstanding young filmmakers from the short video unit of the 24th SIFF. This year’s special training camp will invite Shawn Patrick Tilling, head of the 3D Animation and Visual Effect Department of Shanghai Vancouver Film School, Cui Bo, head of the front-end live broadcast group of the Migu Video Live Broadcast and Production Center, Shen Shengde, the part-time senior lecturer at Academy of Film of Hong Kong Baptist University, Gao Guanyu, guest lecturer of Hong Kong Baptist University, producer, director, and film educator, Wang Jiaren, former deputy general manager and producer of Beijing Production Branch of China Film Group Corporation, and Wang Jing, one of the first five selected young directors of SIFF YOUNG at the 24th SIFF as the instructors of this seminar to instruct young video creators to embark on the career development path of content creation through short films from aspects such as the creation of short films on hot topics.

Tips of the camp

1. The curriculum will be adjusted according to the instructors’ schedules when necessary;

2. The instructors will teach 2.5-3 hours every half day;

3. The instructors advocate the combination of theory and practice, and emphasize practice and experience;

4. Participants can sign up for part or the whole of the curriculum according to their own needs;
