Greetings from the Chairman

As the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival is about to initiate, I wish everyone the best of success on behalf of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the development of Shanghai International Film Festival and the Chinese film industry.

 

As the Chinese film industry is stepping into a new golden age, the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival, which is hosted during the Shanghai World Expo, is gaining even greater popularity.  After more than ten years of development, Shanghai International Film Festival has been upgrading its framework, scale, and international influence.  It is gratifying that this year\'s film entries, film market, film pitch & catch, and co-production film pitch and catch, have reached a record high in history.

 

At present, the Chinese film industry is facing unprecedentedly important opportunities.  We should increase our sense of responsibility, mission and urgency, and accelerate the development of the film industry.  We believe that Shanghai International Film Festival will make a greater contribution in displaying the new achievements of the Chinese film industry, set a better platform for industrial development, and promote international exchanges and cooperation in the film industry.

 

I sincerely wish the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival a complete success!
