April is French Film Panorama month in Shanghai

 

The 7th French Film Panorama offers audiences an enriching cinematic experience. Ticket sales are very hot with some screenings already sold out.

The French Film Panorama will be held from April 15-18 with seven features and six short films in the Shanghai Film Art Center, Stellar Cinema City, and Cathay Theatre. The features include Tomorrow at Dawn, Park Benches, The Hedgehog, Hidden Diary, The Father of My Children, In the Beginning and Welcome to the Sticks. All of them were released just last year with some nominated for the Golden Palm in Cannes or the Golden Lion in Venice. Tomorrow at Dawn and Park Benches are the opening films to be screened in the Hall One of the Shanghai Film Art Center which seats 1100.

In addition, this year’s films include some big names like Catherine Deneuve in Hidden Diary and Park Benches while the top actor Gérard Depardieu co-stars with Emmanuelle Devos in In the Beginning. Miss Devos won the Best Supporting Actress Award in the Césars.

Not only the features will give you genuine pleasure but also the selected shorts will add to your enjoyment as they run the gamut of genres from animation, comedy, and drama. The innovative shorts pack screenings in the Cathay are already sold out.

As usual, in addition to these films the audience can also meet the directors and actors who will visit Shanghai. The Q&A session will be held on Friday night following screenings of Tomorrow at Dawn, Park Benches, The Hedgehog, Hidden Diary, The Father of My Children, and the Shorts Pack in all three cinemas.
