Asian New Talent Award Film Competition from the Past Five Years

With the development of global cinema, various cultures become the leading role of every cinema trend. Recent years, the thriving Asian film talents gradually grasp the world cinema with their unique point of view and artful tastes. Film industry in Asia has aroused attention from all over the world. The Asian New Talent Award (ANTA) is set to attract outstanding and new film talents and to provide a stage for them to show their works to the world\'s film industry. At the mean time, SIFF hopes to be the incubator of more and more Asian film talents, who will support the development of the regional film industry.

The Asia New Talent Award is designed as an attractive award to be given to fresh talented people in the field of film making and also to be something that winners would display with pride.

The design is based on a graphical representation of a young flower or plant, turning to face the sun. Though care has been taken to ensure it is not simply 3D rendering of a plant, but something more abstract that people may see differently. The image of the flower signifies the newfound talents and the enormous potential of the new directors competing for the award, and the sun that the flower is facing is the bright futures they are looking towards.

The award is white as it is pure and elegant and natural. White has the potential to become any other colour, again symbolizing the potential of the new talent. It is also neutral and unbiased, like the concept of the Asia New Talent Award prize itself.
