IM Kwon Taek (Korean Director)



Well-known Korean film director. Mr. Im directed over one hundred films during his film career. His main works include Mandara (in competition of the 45th Berlin International Film Festival), Sopyonje (winner of Best Director, Best Actress of the 1st Shanghai International Film Festival), Aje Aje Bara Aje (winner of Best Actress of Moscow International Film Festival 1989), Adada (winner of Best Actress of Montreal World Film Festival 1987), Sibaji (winner of Best Actress of Venice International Film Festival 1986), Chunhyang (in competition of the 53th Cannes International Film Festival), Strokes of Fire (winner of Best Director of the 55th Cannes International Film Festival), Low Life (nominated for Golden Lion at the 61st Venice Film Festival), etc. Mr. Im was awarded Honorary Golden Berlin Bear at the 55th Berlin International Film Festival and Lifetime Achievement Award at the 4th Dubai International Film Festival.

YU Nan (Chinese Actress)

 



Graduated from Beijing Film Academy. Awards she won including “best actress prize of 8th Chinese Film Media Awards, 2008”, “most popular actress prize of 15st China College Students Film Festival, 2008”, “best actress prize of the Carthage International Film Festival ,2007 (Tu Ya’s Marriage)”, “the best actress prize of the 43th Chicago International Film Festival, 2007”, “best actress prize of 19th  France Paris Film Festival, 2004”, “best actress prize of 23rd China Film Golden Rooster Prize, 2003”, “best actress prize of France Deauvill International Film Festival, 2001”, etc. Her acting as leading role includes NO MAN’S LAND (2009), SPEED RACER (2007), SHUANG SHI JI (2007), IN LOVE WE TRUST (2006), TU YA’s MARRIAGE (2006), LUNAR ECLIPSE (2000). Yu Nan used to serve as jury member at the 44th Chicago International Film Festival and the 12th Pusan International Film Festival.  
 
 
Nonzee NIMIBUTR (Thai Director)
 

Director, producer. In 1997, he directed his first movie, DANG BIRELEY & YOUNG GANGSTER. It won the Grand Prize (Best International Film Award) at the 19th Festival International du Film Independent Festival in Brussels. Nimibutr was also awarded Best Director at the 7th Film International Awards, the Bangkok Film Critics Assembly Awards, and Cinemag Spirit Award. In 1998, Nimibutr directed NANG NAK, which emerged as the highest grossing domestic Thai movie of all time. He was awarded Best Director at the 44th Asia-Pacific Film Festival, the 9th National Film Awards, the Golden Thai Film Awards, and the Bangkok Film Critics Assembly Awards; as well as the Most Promising Asian Director at the 31st International Film Festival at Rotterdam. At the end of year 2003, Nimibutr released his fifth feature film, BAYTONG which marked a development for him, in that it is the first film of his to deal with contemporary issues, reflecting on the most sensitive of current issues.


Royston Tan (Singaporean Director)
 

 
 

Royston Tan has been heralded as Singapore\'s most promising young filmmaker and the cult icon for Singapore. Tan\'s first full-length feature film “15” won the Netpac Fipresci World critic award at the 16th Singapore International Film Festival. “15” is also the first ever Singaporean Film to be invited to be in competition in Venice for the “Lion of the Future Award” and is also the winner of the Deauville Asian Film Festival for the “Special Jury Award” and “Best Director” award for Buenos Aires VI Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente. Royston Tan’s third feature “881”, a getai-based musical drama grossed over SGD3.5million in box office sales, making it Singapore’s top grossing Asian film for 2007. It was also selected as Singapore’s official entry to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film as well as receiving a nomination for the Golden Horse Awards. In 2008, “12 Lotus” became Royston Tan’s fourth feature film, hitting the SGD1million mark during its run at the Singapore box office. 

 


Zhu Wen (Chinese Director)


 

Scripter writer and film director, Zhu Wen’s screenplay Rainclouds Over Wushan won “New Currents Award” at the 1st Pusan International Film Festival and the Best Film at the 14th Torino International Film Festival. Another screenplay, Guo Nian Hui Jia, was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 56th Venice International Film Festival and won the Best Screenplay at Fajr Film Festival in 2001. His first directorial work, Sea Food, won Lion of the Year award at the 58th Venice International Film Festival. Second feature film, Yun de Nan Fang, won the NETPAC award at the 54th Berlin International Film Festival, Best Director for Asian New Talent Award at the 7th Shanghai International Film Festival, Golden Firebird Award and FIPRESCI Prize at the 28th Hong Kong International Film Festival and many other awards both at home and abroad.
