The Belt And Road Film Week│Chaogtu With Sarula
Chaogtu With Sarula was screened at the Palace Cinema in Lujiazui today (July 28), opening the Belt And Road Film Week for the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF). The story is about an ordinary Mongolian couple living on the Inner Mongolian prairie. In a poetic manner, the film portrays the collision between the life on the prairie and that in the city, and displays the people\'s pursuit of love and hope. Director Wang Rui, leading actor Jirimutu, leading actress Tana and Screenwriter Chen Ping met the media and introduced to the audience the production process of the film.
According to Chen Ping, although the film is composed of a simple story, it tells the conflict between real life and spiritual pursuit. The two protagonists are living on the prairie, but their experience and inner thoughts can be understood by all the audience. Director Wang said: "We have shot the film in a sincere manner. Now we desperately hope that it can meet the audience upon the reopening of cinemas."
As a longtime friend of the director, actor Tumen also played a role in the film. He said that on the set, he could feel the persistence and dedication of the cast and crew. "Nowadays, some of films are produced in haste. But the cast and crew of Chaogtu With Sarula have been dedicated to the film in a calm state of mind, which has gained my respect."
Shot on the Hulunbeir Grassland, Chaogtu With Sarula brings the vast and magnificent sceneries of four seasons there on the big screen, restoring the real life of people on the grassland. Jirimutu revealed that several scenes were shot outdoor in winter nights at dozens of degrees below zero. Everyone nearly lost consciousness. The cast and crew believed that only through such hardness, could they present the real life on the Inner Mongolian prairie to the audience.
At the press conference, Tana also sang a Mongolian long tune. Her penetrating voice amazed the whole audience. As a professional Mongolian long tune singer, she also presented her voice in the film. It\'s worth mentioning that Huun-Huur-Tu, a well-known band representing world music, also gave their performance for the film, adding a sense of purity to it. It is reported that the film will be screened nationwide from July 31.
