Cadillac becomes official partner of Shanghai International Film Festival
Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) announced today that Cadillac has become an official partner and designated car brand of the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival.
For more than a hundred years, film has been integrating various art forms, demonstrating mankind’s ultimate pursuit of beauty and endless exploration of the spiritual world. It is also inseparable from the continuous breakthroughs in science and technology. Cadillac has been a companion of global filmmakers and world cinema for a century or so, creating countless legends and stories.
On the screen, Cadillac has created countless popular "characters", and there are even many classic films named after Cadillac. In the past three years, Cadillac has made a stunning appearance in THE SHAPE OF WATER, GREEN BOOK and ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. Many of the films it has “starred” in are Oscar-winners, making Cadillac not only a luxury car brand, but also a unique symbol in cinema. Cadillac has also worked closely with the film and television industry in China, and has appeared in numerous works, such as THE MERMAID, US AND THEM, MAYBE IN WINTER, LEAP and so on.
In reality, Cadillac is the car of many film stars, and a partner of major film festivals, from the Oscars, the Producers Guild Awards, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, to SIFF.
In 2020, SIFF will once again join hands with Cadillac to present the highlights of the event. Movie fans will see the new American luxury style presented by Cadillac\'s new models under the spotlight of SFC Shangying Cinema, and will also have the opportunity to see classic Cadillac models in films such as THE DEER HUNTER and THE BANKER.
Cadillac’s partnership with SIFF originated from their common love for the film industry and continuous empowerment of young filmmakers. Since 2019, SIFF has established a progressive talent development system consisting of SIFF Explore, Golden Goblet Awards Short Film, SIFF Next, SIFF Project, Asian New Talent Awards, and Golden Goblet Awards to train and develop more filmmakers, which is in line with Cadillac’s commitment to empowering young filmmakers.
Mr. Zhou Ziyang, who worked not long ago with Cadillac to shoot a short documentary film for social welfare, serves as the instructor of this year’s SIFF Explore. In that short film, he presents to the audience the afforestation efforts that Hu Ge personally sees along the G7 Expressway through a documentary perspective incorporating the aesthetics of film, showing the fearlessness of ordinary people in the face of natural forces, and combining charisma to inspire the public and visual beauty.
Chic on and off the screen, SIFF and Cadillac wish to offer a unique feast for movie fans.
