SIFF PROJECT | SIFF Project 2020 Opens for Buyer Registration

The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival • SIFF Project is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from July 25 to 28, 2020. Now the registration channel for buyers is open. SIFF Project looks forward to your participation to witness and support the industry recovery together.

This year, SIFF Project received a total of 450 submissions, of which 39 have been shortlisted: 10 fall into New Talent Project, 3 into Co-production Project, 16 into Pre- Production Project, and 10 into Work in Progress Project. Diverse in genres and topics, the finalist projects promise high commercial potential and artistic value.

Public presentation of the New Talent Project in 2019

SIFF now invites representatives of companies and institutions engaged in film and television production to participate in the offline activities of SIFF Project 2020. Meanwhile, those who cannot be present are welcomed to join our online events as well. You are free to register as a buyer through SIFF’s official website before July 23. Details are as follows:

I. Schedule

1. July 25: first-round screening of Work in Progress Project;

2. July 26: public presentations of New Talent Project and Work in Progress Project;

3. July 27-28: negotiation conferences; second and third rounds of screening for Work in Progress Project;

4. July 28 (evening): awarding ceremony.

II. Buyer Benefits

III. How to Apply

1. Visit SIFF website (www.siff.com), click "Registration · Submission"-"Visitor Registration" and register as a SIFF Project Buyer;

2. Fill in your information, submit, and wait for the Organizing Committee to review;

3. After receiving the approval email, proceed to payment. You will receive a confirmation email if the payment is successful.

IV. Fees and Other Information

1. The fee for each buyer badge is RMB 600, which is for personal use only. All meetings and other events accept appointment only.

2. To connect project owners with buyers in a more efficient manner, the Organizing Committee will review the professional qualifications of all guests.

3. Subject to the epidemic prevention requirements of Shanghai government, the number of buyer badges is limited – no more than two for each company in principle.

4. Due to the limited number of buyer badges issued, guests who are unable to participate offline may visit the SIFF website to register as an Online Market Buyer. Once open, buyers of the Online Market will be allowed to view information about all the projects that are shortlisted for SIFF Project.

SIFF PROJECT

Born in 2007, SIFF Project has been successfully held for 13 versions, witnessing 75 projects being made to movies. Not only has it become the incubator for good film works, but also the very place to discover Chinese talents. Now several programmes are gradually formed under SIFF Project, covering new talent projects, pre-production projects, work-in-progress projects and more. For projects of different stages, we help connecting various resources of incubation, financing, and promotion respectively.
