Online Registration for SIFF MARKET 2020 Officially Opens
The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) MARKET is scheduled to take place at Shanghai Exhibition Center from June 14 to 16, 2020. Online registration is officially open from January 1 to May 15, 2020.
Committed to being a part of the diversified filmmaking sector, SIFF MARKET gathers professional exhibitors at home and abroad along the entire industry chain covering film and television production, post-production, education, investment and financing, supporting services, distribution and marketing. A variety of concurrent programs and SIFF Project also contribute to the enriched experience of visitors to the SIFF MARKET.
With a total exhibition area of more than 16,000 square meters, the 22nd SIFF MARKET in 2019 attracted 313 domestic and foreign exhibitors, and received a total of 20,353 visitors over three days.
The two events featured at the “Co-Production Film Market” last year – "Focus on Iran" and "Focus on Thailand" invited film producers and distributors from Iran and Thailand to meet with Chinese filmmakers, share their experience and explore new ideas to strengthen partnership in the film industry.
With an array of events including training from co-production project parties, film project road show, etc., the “Co-Production Film Market” provides a stage for Chinese and foreign filmmakers to strengthen the cooperation on international film projects and further promote market transactions.
The “Belt and Road” Pavilion will continue to play its part in the 2020 SIFF MARKET, engaging more film institutions from countries and regions along the Belt and Road. The national film culture promotion event held for each country will serve as a platform for more Chinese filmmakers to understand overseas markets.
The SIFF MARKET 2020 will be specially added with one-on-one negotiation meetings to meet the varied needs of visitors. Divided into four themes – International Distribution, Co-production Project, Supporting Services, and Book Copyright, the meetings are open to global buyers, project parties, service agencies, and book copyright owners, respectively. By tapping into the potential of the Shanghai International Film Festival as a premium platform, SIFF MARKET aims to bridge the gap between Chinese filmmakers and global film resources.
Exhibitors at home and abroad are also welcomed to screen their new films to be released at the DVD screening room on site. Two convenient viewing channels are provided for buyers to facilitate film trading.
Buyers Mix & Meeting is upgraded at the SIFF MARKET 2020, covering topics such as global film distribution, film project investment and financing, post-production, and film and TV talent training. Thus, all visitors are given a great opportunity to learn from and network with industry influencers.
