The 2nd "Welcome to New Era - China Will Always Be Here" Media Convergence Works Competition was officially launched in Shanghai on June 15th. The 2nd "Welcome to New Era - China Will Always Be Here" Convergence Media Works Competition is an important part of this year\'s "Mass publicity and education activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People\'s Republic of China". It was directed by the Propaganda and Education Bureau, Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Communication Bureau of Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, Ideology Political Department of Ministry of Education of the People\'s Republic of China, and the Publicity Department of the Communist Youth League of China, and it was held by News Center of China Media Group. The launch ceremony was listed as one of the official activities of the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival.

Compared with the first competition, this competition has greatly expanded in the form of soliciting contributions, the theme of soliciting contributions and the setting of awards: From a simple collection of short video works to a comprehensive convergence media competition integrating short video, photographic works, interactive works and innovative works, and the kinds of awards increased from 5 to 7, and the number of awards increased from 60 to 100. The competition will also launch off-line activities such as "New Power of Light and Shadow - Convergence Media Training Camp in College", and hold forum for creative sharing for students studying in professional colleges and universities, providing a platform for creators to communicate and display.

The organizing committee of the competition will collect works with themes such as "Follow the Long March Again", "Look of the Great Party", "the Autumn Harvest Picture Scroll" and "Landmark of the Republic" by month, encouraging the creators to use creative means such as stop-motion, aerial photography, VR, AR, hand-drawing and sand painting, and fully reflects the new generation of young people\'s vivid understanding of the new era, and provides a more down-to-earth perspective and dynamic expression for the dissemination of socialist core values.

The official with the organizer hoped that the young participants with a unique perspective and more lively audio-visual language, display in the new era, building a new era of youth dream, show positive, constantly striving to become China\'s "Energy", close to the reality, rooted in the people, come up with successful media works.

The 1st "Welcome to New Era!" in 2018 Youth Creative Micro Video Contest collected nearly 2000 pieces of works, selected five major awards, 50 winning works and 10 excellent organizations.
