The film tells a story of a young widow and how she handles the unfortunate fact that seven bandits have come to steal her livestock and rape her. Violated by a group of gangsters, Marlina kills several of them to defend herself. In order to seek justice, she goes on a journey for empowerment and redemption. When waiting for the bus, she meets a pregnant woman who is understandably peeved by her baby's refusal to exit. Later, she meets a talkative passenger who is expected at her nephew's wedding with two horses but already late. This motley crew will make it into town, but the road is long especially when the ghosts of her victims begin to haunt her. And the two surviving bandits start to make things difficult...

Yoshika, a 24-year-old office clerk, is in her tenth year of unrequited love for A, a fellow student in middle school. Now B, a persistent fellow worker asks her out. After seven years, Carson is finally graduating. She gets a call from Dio, her best friend for also seven years, asking her to come by his house due to an emergency. Not being able to say no to him, she hurriedly goes to his house where she learns from Dio’s father about his plans of pursuing Law. Three days before graduation, Dio drags Carson and Jason, their other friend, to the beach up North where a music festival is being held. They meet Pathy. At the music festival, they drunkenly talk about their plans of getting by after graduation. Carson learns that Pathy is indeed Dio’s ex-girlfriend and that Pathy is hoping to fix their relationship. Carson’s world is crushed. At this point, it’s getting clearer to Carson that Dio has no feelings for her. On the day of the graduation, Carson receives an emergency call from Dio inviting her for one last drink. Carson finally graduates from the thought that for Dio, she is just his best friend.

Blitzkrieg strikes Poland in 1939, followed by German invasion of the land and the expulsion of Jews. Under those circumstances, the young couple Jan and Antonina Zabinski witness the miserable sufferings of the persecuted Jews and decided to transform their zoo into a sanctuary for them. The couple ask their old friend Lutz Heck, who is also a German officer, for approval that they turn the zoo into a hoggery to offer pork to German soldiers. Lutz agrees because he wants to breed the extinct European bison through a series of tests of the zoo’s American bison. By transporting fodder from the Jewish community, Jan saves groups of Jews and places them in the zoo. He rushes to the front line as the war escalates, leaving Antonina alone to raise their children and help the Jews to evacuate.
