Silk Road Film Festival Returns to Xi\'an in September
VR technology will be featured on the third Silk Road International Film Festival, too.
The third Silk Road International Film Festival is returning to Xi\'an, China, this fall to present an array of films from Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and European cinema.
The festival, scheduled for September 19 to 23, welcomes film productions from regions that were once part of the historic Silk Road trade routes.
This year\'s festival has adopted the theme "Film in Development, Culture in Diversity" and will feature an extensive menu of feature films, documentaries and shorts.
The aim of the festival is to forge cultural connections among countries along the Silk Road and to serve as part of the national Silk Road Economic Belt & 21st Century Maritime Silk Road strategy.
It will promote cultural communication and cooperation as an international platform for film exchange and trade as well as spread of the influence of Chinese cinema.
The Silk Road International Film Festival is held annually, alternating between the two Chinese cities of Fuzhou or Xi\'an.
It will be organized this year by the Administrative Committee of Qu Jiang New District, Xi\'an, and co-sponsored by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China, Shaanxi Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and Xi\'an People\'s Government.
