MovieLoversSwarmto BuyTiTICKETS for the upcoming 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival are selling well.

Group and individual tickets, priced around 60 yuan, went on sale at 8am on 4th June at 45 cinemas across the city, including the Shanghai Film Art Center, Yonghua Cinema and Peace Cinema. Movie buffs were also able to buy online at piao.taobao.com.

More than 500 movies will be shown at local cinemas, colleges and community culture centers during the festival to be held from June 11 to 19.

Popular screenings include the latest offering of American film maker Woody Allen -"Café Society," British film adaptations of Shakespeare\'s works such as "Richard III," James Bond films, Hong Kong actor Leslie Cheung\'s representative works, South Korean film "Veteran," Oscar-winning film "Son of Saul" and acclaimed comedy film "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

While crowds of people waited in long queue at cinemas in downtown areas, many snapped up tickets online through mobile phone.

Jacky Zhang, a film enthusiast said he had spent days choosing movies to see from such a big number of candidates and set the alarm clock in advance."It is a rare chance for us to watch so many classic and art-house pictures on the big screen," said Zhang."Many productions would not be likely to be released in China but for the festival."

Film exhibition has been a popular tradition of the annual film fest. Last year, around 18 million yuan worth of tickets were finally sold.cketsfor UpcomingFilmCarnival
