　　Time flies. Another Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, has already kicked off. Looking back, we feel delighted that the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival has become the largest film event in Asia. Here, on behalf of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival Organizing Committee, I would like to extend our gratitude to friends home and abroad who have been supporting and caring about the development of Chinese films, and I would also like to welcome all the distinguished guests to reunite at the Festival.

　　China\'s film industry is now developing by leaps and bounds. The Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, as an important platform for domestic and international filmmakers to show, dialogue, and communicate, undertakes the responsibility to promote the development of Chinese film industry and enhances the cooperation among Chinese and foreign filmmakers. Each and every successful Shanghai International Film and TV Festival has witnessed the development of the global film industry, and participated in the rising of Chinese film industry. Today, the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival is striving to become a first-class film event in the world.

　　At this year’s Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, global film industry’s outstanding professionals have gathered here to showcase their thoughts and reflections on their own cultures, and enable the audiences to discover a colorful world and feel the pleasures through their special works. The Festival will offer a diversified, integrated and unique oriental cultural feast with extraordinary activities.

　　With the unremitting efforts made by several generations of filmmakers, Chinese film industry is enjoying a prosperous golden time. In this time, we hope more and more Chinese filmmakers can take the responsibility of creating deep-thinking, artistic and well-made films; we hope they can adhere to the people-centered orientation, create more films that carry forward the socialist core values and care for the people, and make greater contribution to the world with different sound and color.

　　The Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, which is undergoing constant innovations, is full of vitality. Let us, in this June, enjoy the marvelous experience that the 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival will bring to us!

　　This year，the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival is not only a festival celebrated by filmmakers from around the world, but also an event that all people in Shanghai are proud of. On behalf of the Shanghai Municipal Government and the Shanghai International Film and TV Festival Organizing Committee, I would like to extend our welcome to the old and new friends to the 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival.

　　At present, efforts are being made in an all-round manner to build Shanghai into an "international economic, financial, trade and shipping center" and globally influential technological innovation center. While actively adapting to and leading the new norm of economic development, Shanghai is paying more attention to improving its "soft power", giving play to the “all-embracing” feature of Shanghai culture, and building an international cultural metropolis. The Shanghai International Film and TV Festival, as an important "cultural window" of Shanghai, brings together the newest ideas of the professionals from home and abroad, provides a complete set of film industry services, presents film resources of wide public concerns, and shows classic and new works from across the world. The Festival which is international, professional and market-oriented, demonstrates the charm and diversity of Shanghai culture.

　　During the festival, we will celebrate the Golden Goblet Award with new winners, achieve special personal experience of watching VR movies, listen to brand-new ideas from inside and outside the industry, review the abundant accomplishments throughout the ten years since the beginning of the Festival, and feel the charm of the Internet Movie Carnival and the Film Week of Jackie Chan’s Action Movies. The festival will also focus on creating a new incubating platform, providing a nonstop express for the emerging forces of Asian film industry. It will advocate the establishment of "one belt one road” Film Festival cooperation mechanism, and enable the relevant countries and regions to have a greater say in the global film industry. We believe that the 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival will not only see various film cultures sparkling through interactions bit also see Chinese films showcasing their own excellence.

　　We are expecting that Chinese filmmakers will gain inspirations, insights and strength at the Festival, so as to create more enlightening, warm and value-cultivating works, and tell Chinese "film stories". In that way, there will be more Chinese films that not only meet the growing cultural demands of our own people, but also go out of the country and strike a chord with the people from other countries.
