Tibet serfdom film bags six major movie channel media awards

The movie won awards for best picture, best director, best screenplay, best actress in a supporting role, best new actor and best new actress.
The film, directed by Fu Dongyu from a screenplay by A Lai, focuses on the history of abolishment of serfdom in Tibet through the lives of two young men. It also reveals the dramatic changes in modern Tibet over 40 years.
The best actor in a leading role award went to Li Baotian for his performance in The Nightingale. Tao Hong won the award for best actress in a leading role for her performance in Forgetting to Know You.
Sonam Dolgar in Phurbu & Tenzin was named best actress in a supporting role and, for the same film, Lawang Lop won best new actor award and Yang Xue won best new actress award.
His work on the movie Old Boy: The Way of the Dragon resulted in Xiao Yang winning best new director award.
The China Movie Channel Media Awards were voted by a jury group of media and cinema representatives and film critics.
