Top Asian New Talent awards for film and director go to Iran\'s Reza Dormishian

Iranian director Reza Dormishian’s film I’m Not Angry! won the Asian New Talent Award for Best Film and he won for Best Director at the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival.
South Korean director Lee Yong-seung’s film 10 Minutes won the Jury Prix.
Dormishian\'s movie is the story of Navid, a young man whose university studies are disrupted because of his activities and beliefs. He tries to deal with all the injustices and suffering and maintains a very basic living while not losing his lover Setareh.
Dormishian was born in Tehran in 1981 and started writing film criticism for newspapers in 1997. He’s also a screenwriter and producer and has worked with prominent Iranian filmmakers like Dariush Mehrjui and Alireza Davood Nejad.
The Vincent Ward Prize, sponsored by University of Canterbury in New Zealand, was also awarded to Dormishian and Indian director Indranil Roychowdhury (Dragon Fly).
The prize provides roundtrip tickets, two-month allowance, accommodation and use of film school facilities.
The jury panel was chaired by South Korean director Kang Je-kyu and included New Zealand director and screenwriter Vincent Ward, Taiwanese actress and producer Lieh Lee, Chinese actress Yan Bingyan and Philippine director Adolfo Alix, Jr.
