New Film Deals Signed, Major Partnerships Forged at SIFF Market

 

The three-day SIFF Market concluded on June 19th with successful business partnerships forged in the film industry and the promise of more original Chinese film projects.The Market includes an international film trade mart and SIFF Project.

The film trade market attracted 819 domestic and overseas film production and distribution companies, as well as 2718 registered buyers from 106 countries and regions. More than 750 contracts were written for cooperative film partnerships.

Li Xiaofeng\'s movie Scrape My Bone was honored as the Most Creative Project while Gao Bo\'s Fantasy Journey won the Promising Investment Project award.

Three projects - Lu Yitong\'s Invisible Tattoo, Tian Yuan\'s Forgot to Forget, and Luo Dong\'s New York, New York - won the Phenom Films Special Attention Award. Wang Yuelun\'s Love took the KO Special Award.

The film projects covered a wide range of subjects with diverse and creative stories ideas. They are expected to become new forces to motivate the industry.

The film festival\'s organizing committee says the SIFF Market is an important platform to drive the domestic film industry. It is a good supplement to the festival\'s International Film Panorama and Golden Goblet Award events.

A lot of film parties and conferences were held during the market, attracting celebrated film figures and companies such as Prime Focus, Wild Bunch and Xunlei.com. The market also provided a variety of services to film producers, including market surveys, and guidance on financing and intellectual property rights.

New age media companies became more involved this year in the film industry. They started to foster young, talented filmmakers and aim to put major film projects with strong market potential on the big screen in the near future.
