Magnificent Red Carpet, Shining Super Stars

SIFF has achieved high levels of recognition and approval from the international and Chinese film industries over many years. Many more foreign production companies will take part this year to celebrate the annual Chinese window on new movie productions.

SIFF\'s opening ceremony, known as the “first red carpet of Asia”, has been given a real show biz makeover this year with the theme of Chinese Innovation and Cosmopolitan Tastes. It is estimated that almost 400 film stars from home and abroad will grace the red carpet, including over 30 cast and crew from Making Havoc in Heaven 3D True Person Edition, Very Lucky, Bu Er Shen Tan, Trump Card, Gong Suo Chen Xiang, and Tiny Times. They will rub shoulders with renowned international film director Oliver Stone, a jury member at the first SIFF in 1993, filmmakers of the featured opening films, members of the national film delegation plus a host of popular film stars.
