Turkish Movies of Different Genres Will Be Screened During SIFF

Turkish films have more than a decade-long history at the Shanghai International Film Festival. In 1999, the Turkish movie Propaganda won the Best Feature Film Award. In 2011, Turkish film Hayde Bre got the Golden Goblet Award as well as the Best Actor Award.

In 2012, the movie Isztambul(Istanbul) will be competing for the Golden Goblet Award at the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival. The film is a co-production of Hungary/Turkey/ Holland/Ireland and parts of it were shot in Turkey’s Istanbul and Cappadocia.

In addition, 8 Turkish movies of different genres will be screened as part of the Festival’s official program, bringing the producers, directors and actors of these movies from Turkey to Shanghai. Moreover, the Film Producers’ Professional Association(FIYAB) of Turkey will be represented for the first time at the “Film Market” to promote the networking and marketing opportunities between the Turkish and Chinese movie industries as well as with other countries participating in the Festival.
