Pina 3D, by Wim Wenders, will be officially screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

As the first 3D art film, Pina is definitely the hottest item this year. It impressed audiences when first released in Berlin this February. Wim Wenders is one of Germany’s most successful directors, well-known for Paris,Texas and Wings of Desire. Back to 1985, he decided to make a film with Pina Bausch after seeing her Cafe Muller. But Pina passed away in May 2009 and the film lost its principal subject after 20 years\' preparation. To recreate the life and work of this modern dance pioneer, the film combines 2D archival footage with fresh 3D sequences.

After strenuous efforts on he part of the committee, Pina will be the closing movie of the MIDA. During the festival, Pina 3D will be shown twice in Grand Theatre Shanghai and the Shanghai Film Art Center.
