Shanghai Science and Technology Film City takes the opportunity of the international solicitation of urban design proposals for the "Songjiang Hub" area to deepen the planning of its core area at a higher level. The Huayang Lake area cultivates the functions of the film and television industry, creates a special atmosphere for film and television, introduces a headquarters-based, technology-based, and experience-based film and television industry, and builds a three-dimensional composite film and television industry experience ring around the lake, forming an international film and television central service area, and a film and television characteristic functional area. The Songjiang Hub area creates an iconic city-level hub and urban space image that reflects the unique charm of Shanghai's southwest gateway and Songjiang New Urban Area, and creates a new city public center that faces the future, which is open and vigorous, and has a bright image. With the continuous and rapid recovery of my country's film and television industry, the high-quality development trend of Shanghai Science and Technology Film City has been highlighted. From January to May this year, Songjiang newly introduced 565 film and television companies, a year-on-year increase of 40.2%. Among the films for the Spring Festival this year, Songjiang film and television companies produced or participated in the main investment of 4 films, occupying "half of the Spring Festival film market." Among the 27th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards, Songjiang's "With You" won the Jury Award and International Communication Awards, and "Nothing But Thirty" won the Best Actress and International Communication Awards.

Since the beginning of this year, Shanghai Science and Technology Film City has been closely following the construction progress of key film and television projects, and a large number of high-tech film and television bases have been settled one after another. The construction of the Yangtze River Delta International Film and Television Center with a total investment of nearly 10 billion is advancing at a high speed. The engineering construction and project investment promotion are proceeding simultaneously. The first phase of the studio area is expected to be completed and put into use within this year; The Xingkong variety show film and television production research and development base and Chinese handicraft film and television derivative incubation base -"Transit Passengers" project - started construction in May. At the press conference, the Haopu Film and Television Base, which includes 4 high-tech studios and 1 underwater digital studio, was inaugurated and opened, and a number of benchmark projects with major industry influence and technological vision settled in the City, such as Huace copyright trading platform, DRTTISP Dingjunshan Film and Television Digital Technology Innovation Base Project, etc. Key projects such as the first phase of Huace Yangtze River Delta International Film and Television Center, "Detective Chinatown: Side Story" cultural and business travel project, Dingjunshan Film and Television Technology Base, Qiming Technology Film and Television Base, Shanghai Technology Film and Television Derivatives Development Base, etc. were made public at the event. The total amount of projects settled and announced at the conference amounted to 20 billion yuan. Up to now, Shanghai Science and Technology Film City has gathered nearly 7,000 film and television companies and studios, covering all aspects of the industry chain such as film and television creation, film and television shooting, film and television training, and film and television promotion, basically realizing the development of the entire film and television industry chain.

To achieve high-quality development in the film and television industry, the joint efforts of all sectors of industry, academia, and research are needed. In order to provide the industry with quantifiable analysis tools, the "China Film City Competitiveness Index Report (2021)" was released at the press conference, which quantitatively evaluates six representative cities from the four dimensions of production factors, industrial operation, technological innovation, and policies and regulations. At the same time, the "Shanghai Science and Technology Film City Construction Report" was also released on the spot.
