Dear citizens, the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) is scheduled to take place from June 11 to 20. To fully follow the relevant regulations on epidemic control of the state and Shanghai, online ticketing is adopted for all screening cinemas of this SIFF. We now announce the ticketing time and answer questions that netizens care about to make it easier for you to buy tickets and enjoy movies.

Where can I buy a ticket?

[Taopiaopiao APP] is the official ticketing platform of the 24th SIFF.

You can download [Taopiaopiao APP] to purchase tickets on your mobile phone and learn more about ticketing information. Tickets can also be purchased through [Alipay-Applet Movie& Performance].

Which films will be screened at SIFF this year?

You can log in to the [Taopiaopiao APP] on your mobile phone and click on the screening schedule at the bottom of the special page of the 24th SIFF to view all the films and the corresponding screening cinemas. You can also learn about screening scheduling information on the official website of SIFF or through the pushes of its WeChat Official Account on the day when ticketing starts.

I don’t have an account with the ticketing APP, can I ask someone to buy a ticket on my behalf?

As there are many popular screening sessions at this SIFF, we recommend you to download the [Taopiaopiao APP] on your mobile phone to ensure that you can buy the tickets of your favorite films in the first time. Elderly audiences who don’t know how to operate [Taopiaopiao APP] can ask your family and friends to help you to buy on this APP. The staff at the designated screening cinemas will also provide you with on-site consulting services.

Tips: To avoid network congestion, please register a [Taopiaopiao APP] account in advance.

Are there any restrictions on ticket purchases?

A maximum of 4 tickets can be purchased for a single screening session. Vouchers, redemption vouchers, cinema cards, Huabei cards, 88VIP, Leying cards, and film bonuses cannot be used to purchase tickets for all screenings of this SIFF.

How to quickly buy tickets on [Taopiaopiao APP]?

You can add to your own schedule in advance the screening sessions in the screening schedule at the bottom of the special page of the 24th SIFF following the steps below:

①   Click the "+" icon on the right side of the relevant session in the schedule to add the film to your own schedule in advance

②  When the ticketing starts, you will receive the ticket purchase reminder in the first time

③ When the ticketing starts, you can purchase directly through your own schedule to which the film is add

Tips: According to the epidemic control regulations, only 75% of the seats are available for your option in a single session.

How to get the ticket after purchase?

From June 6, you can go to the corresponding cinema, find the ticket machine with “The 24th Shanghai International Film Festival” logo on the screen, open the [Taopiaopiao APP], enter “My”-“Movie Ticket”, enter the details page, and scan the QR code on the mobile phone on the ticket machine or manually enter the ticket code on the ticket machine to print a paper ticket.

Tips: To follow the epidemic control regulations, cross-cinema ticket collection is not supported.

Can I enter with an e-ticket?

All screening sessions of this SIFF require valid paper tickets. After purchasing a ticket online, you can go to the corresponding cinema to get a paper ticket through the ticket machine.

If I have some urgent business to deal with, can I refund or transfer the ticket?

As the screening sessions of this SIFF are specially arranged, all tickets are not allowed to be refunded or changed.

Do I need to provide an ID card and the health code when entering the screening venue?

Please follow the cinema’s epidemic control requirements and cooperate with the cinema in epidemic control inspection, including scanning the QR code at the entrance of the cinema and the screening room, showing your health code, taking body temperature, and checking the ticket.

Do I need to wear a mask when watching the movie?

To strictly follow the relevant epidemic control regulations of the state and Shanghai and ensure your safety when watching movies, please wear masks during screening.

Can I eat popcorn and drink beverages while watching movies?

According to relevant epidemic control regulations, eating and drinking in the cinema is prohibited during screening.

Can I bring children to watch movies together?

Welcome. However, it should be noted that no children's free tickets are provided for all screening sessions of this SIFF. If you need to watch movies with children, you also need to buy tickets for them.
