The 24th Shanghai International Film Festival Releases Official Poster

A train of a projector and a film roll in a warm and dazzling halo roars past by on a flowing film track ---- Today, the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) themed “The Film Art of Centennial Glory on a Ceaseless Journey” releases its official poster. The poster features a train speeding on, symbolizing the centennial growth journey of Chinese film under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and paying tribute to the great era in the way unique to film art.

The train is a symbol of industrial civilization, and the film the electrical age. There has always been an indissoluble bond between train and film. At the end of the nineteenth century, the public screening of the short documentary “The Arrival of the Train” marked the start of the era of film. Soon after, “Western movies” hit the screen in Shanghai, which was the first film screening in China, raising the curtain for the development of Chinese film.
