The Belt and Road Film Week | Belt and Road Film Week to Showcase 16 Movies under “Shared Screens” Theme
This year’s theme for Belt and Road Film Week, a key section of Shanghai International Film Festival, was announced at the launch ceremony on June 17 as "Shared Screens."

Sixteen recent films from 26 countries, including China, Chile and Brazil, will be featured during the week.
Several of them have already screened in major sections of internationally renowned film events, such as Locarno Film Festival and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The eight films that have been shortlisted to vie for honors cover a diverse range of themes, including coming-of-age stories, reflections on homeland, and observations of contemporary society.
The awards for Most Media-Anticipated Film, Most Media-Anticipated Filmmaker and Audience Favorite Film will be announced on June 19.
Also during the opening ceremony, the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance officially welcomed a new member, the Royal Film Commission—Jordan.
The alliance has now expanded from its original 31 institutions across 29 countries to 58 institutions from 51 countries.
Since being established in 2018, the alliance has facilitated the overseas screening of 67 Chinese films and brought more than 1,000 films from Belt and Road partner countries to Chinese audiences.
