Kering and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival Renew Their Partnership Empowering film diversity and the creative ecosystem

Kering and the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) are delighted to announce that the Group will serve as Official Co-Creation Partner of the Festival’s 28th edition. This renewed partnership will introduce co-created content, including a thematic Talk and film screenings, contributing to the development of a more diverse and inclusive film industry ecosystem.

This year, the co-hosted SIFFORUM | Kering, under the theme “Creativity In Motion” will once again bring together leading filmmakers and industry voices from China and abroad to engage in forward-looking discussions on cinema and creation. Through the exchange of perspectives and experiences, the forum aims to foster a dynamic ecosystem in which the luxury industry and cinematic arts enrich one another through cross-disciplinary collaboration, reflecting Kering’s signature: Creativity is our Legacy. Meanwhile, the Special Screening Program supported by Kering will continue to present a curated selection of international films through a global lens, highlighting the diversity and interconnected nature of cinematic expression.
Launched by Kering at the Festival de Cannes in 2015, Women In Motion is dedicated to highlighting the talent of women in cinema, both in front of and behind the camera. Through the Women In Motion Award and the Emerging Talent Award, the program celebrates inspirational figures while providing concrete support to emerging talent. Past awardees include Jane Fonda, Isabelle Huppert, Gong Li, Salma Hayek, Michelle Yeoh, Nicole Kidman, and Julianne Moore. In addition, through more than 100 Talks, interviews, and podcasts held worldwide, the program has established a platform for dialogue, amplifying women’s voices across arts and culture. Over more than a decade, the program has expanded well beyond Cannes, extending its influence globally.
In 2025, following collaborations with international film festivals such as the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Kering partnered with the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival as Official Co-Creation Partner, marking a key milestone in its expansion within China’s film landscape. During the Festival, the co-created Talk and Special Screening Program were widely acclaimed by industry professionals and audiences worldwide.
Building on the success of this inaugural collaboration, Kering and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival will further deepen their shared commitment. By fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and co-creation, the partnership aims to nurture a more vibrant film culture and creative ecosystem, contributing to a more diverse and thriving future for the film industry in China and beyond.
