The mentors selected two Best SIFF NEXT Projects, which will be directly selected for the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival SIFF PROJECT.

Pregnancy (Director: LI Huifei, Screenwriter: LIU Ran, Producer: XIA Yu)

Comment: The characters are distinct, the pacing is sharp, the issues are punchy, the director and screenwriter work well together, and the project is promising.

Duck Hill (Director/Screenwriter: MIAO Jina/YE Yuhang)

Comment: A three-part folk legend, with characters echoing throughout the beginning and end, forms a mysterious and beautifully closed loop of storytelling. The project has a relatively clear aesthetic direction, with texture and weight.
