Sci-Fi Film Week|Outlook for Potential Sci-Fi Films in the Future
The 25th Shanghai International Film Festival’s Sci-Fi Film Week will launch the "Future Engine: Annual Prospect of Sci-Fi Films" on June 11. This event will feature important guests of the industry and representatives of project teams, who will release information on China's highly anticipated sci-fi film projects.
With the release of highly acclaimed sci-fi films such as THE WANDERING EARTH and MOON MAN, China's science fiction film industry has made significant breakthroughs in storytelling, aesthetics, and other aspects. This year's Sci-Fi Film Week at the SIFF has launched the "Future Engine: Annual Prospect of Sci-Fi Films." The event aims to unveil information on upcoming Chinese sci-fi film projects worth attention in the next few years. The goal is to showcase to the industry and Chinese audiences the continuous efforts of China’s sci-fi filmmakers in creating imaginative works and encourage them to support the emerging sci-fi filmmakers in China.
"Future Engine: Annual Outlook for Sci-Fi Films" will invite Wang Hongwei, vice president of China Film Directors' Guild, to review the development of China’s science fiction films in recent years, put forward suggestions and expectations for the making of China’s science fiction films, and give an outlook for the future development of THE WANDERING EARTH series. Representatives of five sci-fi film project teams will come on stage to release project information. These include a sci-fi youth action blockbuster that a well-known director has been honing for many years, a sci-fi action film with unique Chinese nostalgia, as well as a romantic feature film wandering between virtuality and reality…
The engine of the future is about to start, looking forward to each sci-fi film project, entering a time and space beyond imagination, and opening up new possibilities for China’s sci-fi films. Which excellent sci-fi film projects will it introduce to us? Let’s wait and see.
