International Short Film Screening|Six Diverse Animated Short Films, it’s nice in here
The International Short Film Screening at this year’s SIFF has selected six diverse animated short films. They are “RUDÉ BOTY” (Czech Republic), nominated for Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival, “IT’S NICE IN HERE” (Netherlands), nominated for La Semaine de la critique at the Cannes Film Festival, “MISALIGNED” (Poland), nominated for the International Short Film Competition at the Locarno Film Festival, “SLOUCH” (Germany), nominated at the Clermont-Ferrand and Zagreb Film Festivals and nominated for the Annie Award, the stylistically strong art animation “THE CABBAGE MIRACLE” (Russia), and the heartwarming and delightful sketch “SHYRAQ” (Kazakhstan). “RUDÉ BOTY”, “MISALIGNED”, and “THE CABBAGE MIRACLE” are all art animations that emphasize brushstrokes, while “IT’S NICE IN HERE” adopts techniques such as aspect ratio changes and those of animated documentaries.
