Since its inception, the Asian New Talent section of the Golden Goblet Awards has kept discovering new filmmakers from China and other Asian countries and regions, to support new talent in Asian cinema and bring out the vitality of Asian cinema.

This year, SIFF has announced the shortlist of the Asian New Talent section. It is worth mentioning that all 12 films in the shortlist will compete for the best feature film and best director awards this year, and with one of the films being an international premiere, the other 11 are world premieres.
