SIFF YOUNG | SIFF YOUNG Selected Filmmaker Rao Xiaozhi's New Film HOME COMING to be Unveiled during China’s National Day Film Season
Today, it is announced that the film HOME COMING directed by Rao Xiaozhi, the director selected by SIFF YOUNG x (hereinafter referred to as Y Project) in 2021, will be released on September 30 officially during the National Day film season with the finalized poster publicized as well.

HOME COMING, directed by Rao Xiaozhi, who has won wide public praise for his A COOL FISH and END GAME, continues his featured realistic style. Adapted from real life events, this film reveals for the first time the behind-the-scene stories of how Chinese diplomats evacuated the overseas Chinese. The long journey home, beset with difficulties, is far more thrilling than the news reports. In the film, a riot broke out in the Republic of Numia, making it urgent to evacuate overseas Chinese. Zong Dawei, a diplomat played by Zhang Yi, and Cheng Lang, a young man new to the diplomatic work played by Wang Junkai, penetrated the zone in the flames of war to rescue the trapped nationals led by Bai Hua, played by Yin Tao.
HOME COMING is directed by Rao Xiaozhi and supervised by Guo Fan and Wang Hongwei with a cast led by Zhang Yi, Wang Junkai, and Yin Tao. Also, Cheng Taishen, Zhang Zixian, and Chen Haoyu contributed their performance, Wang Xun and Wan Qian starred in special roles, and Li Xuejian, Li Chen, and Wang Zhi made guest appearance. Produced by Huace Film & TV (Shanghai), Yiyi Yiyi Culture Media Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen), Hengdian Film Co., Ltd. (Zhejiang), Guo Fan (Beijing) Film Co., Ltd., and Free Whale Picture (Beijing), it will be released nationwide during the National Day film season on September 30, 2022.
On June 12, 2021, Y Project was launched at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), and Rao Xiaozhi became the first young filmmakers selected by this program together with Han Shuai, Liang Ming, Wang Jing and Zeng Guoxiang.
