Official Recruitment|The 25th SIFF Now Recruits Screening Theaters
As the first competitive feature film festival in China, Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) presents a feast of film art to movie fans all over the world through Film Panorama that gathers exquisite works. As the 25th SIFF is at present under intensive preparations, to ensure the smooth progress of film screening, SIFF together with the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association launches the recruitment of screening theaters from now on.
High screening quality at theaters is crucial to the film screening of SIFF. To provide quality services to enthusiastic movie fans, various media, and film creative teams, SIFF and Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association have jointly formulated the following selection criteria:
Priority will be given to theaters that have established long-term cooperation with SIFF and provide excellent services.
Priority will be given to theaters with excellent screening quality certified by annual inspections.
Priority will be given to theaters with advanced screening equipment.
Priority will be given to theaters with a long history and culture or those standing as landmarks in Shanghai.
Priority will be given to theaters with convenient transportation or located in major business districts of the city.
Priority will be given to theaters that actively cooperate with the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Radio and Television to screen excellent domestic mainstream cinema, hold screening activity of the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association, provide special offers for the elderly, or participate in Shanghai Citizen Art Festival.
Priority will be given to star-rated theaters in Shanghai.
Priority will be given to members of the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.
Theaters with major screening accidents will be excluded.
Theaters that have been involved in group complaints and failed to handle them properly will be excluded.
Theaters that have violations such as reports with fakeness, omissions and concealment, etc., or have been criticized by China Film Administration and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Radio and Television through circulars will be excluded.
Theaters that have been in arrears or have not paid the national special fund for film development on time will be excluded.
Theaters interested are required to obtain the "SIFF Screening Theater Application Form" from the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association. Please complete and seal the application form and email it to the Federation before 12:00 on March 28, 2023 (Tuesday).
