Regulation on 25th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) Market

 

Article I

This Regulation applies to the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival Market in 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the "SIFF MARKET").

The Shanghai International Film Festival Organizing Committee is also the organizer of the SIFF MARKET (hereinafter referred to as the "organizer").

The application for participation in the SIFF MARKET is deemed the acknowledgement and acceptance hereof.

 

Article II Dates, Venue & Exhibition Hours

Date: June 13 (Mon) - 15 (Wed), 2022

Venue: Shanghai Exhibition Center

       上海展览中心 (in Chinese)

Address: No.1000 Yan An Road (M), Shanghai

Pavilion Location: Eastern Hall No.1, Western Hall No.1, Central Hall

 

Article III Booth Application

a. The online application of the SIFF MARKET is available at www.siff.com from January 1 to May 14, 2022. The exhibitor shall fill out the application form for the booth of SIFF MARKET (“Application Form”) online. 

 

b. The booth can only be used by the exhibitor who rents it. Any transfer or re-allocation of the booth without permission from the organizer is forbidden. Otherwise, the organizer reserves the right to discharge the exhibitor’s right to participate and the payment will not be reimbursed.

 

c. The organizer reserves the right to approve or decline an application without any clarifications.

 

Article IV Rates & Payment

a. Pricing from January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022 (Early Bird Price):

100% of the booth rental for the Early Bird Price must be paid within 5 working days upon the submission of the Application Form, while a copy of the payment receipt should be attached (or by email). Otherwise, the booth application will be invalid.

 

b. Pricing from April 1, 2022 to May 14, 2022:

30% of the booth rental must be paid as deposit within 5 working days upon the submission of the Application Form, while a copy of the payment receipt should be attached (or by email). Otherwise, the booth application will be invalid. The balance should be paid before May 14, 2022. Any booth application on May 14, 2022 should pay full payment once the Application Form becomes effective. The organizer reserves the right to decline the exhibitor who fails to finish the payment in due course. The deposit paid will not be reimbursed.

 

c. Those who decide to withdraw their application upon payment must notify the organizer in written form before May 14, 2022 and within 30 days after the Application Form becomes effective. Otherwise, the payment will not be reimbursed. The application validated after May 1, 2022 may not be withdrawn. 

 

d. Accepted payment methods are listed on the Application Form.

 

Article V Booth Allocation

a. The floor plan of the SIFF MARKET will be published on the official website of the Shanghai International Film Festival. After the submission of the Application Form, the completion of payment, and the receipt of Booth Confirmation, exhibitors will able to select booth locations and confirm the selection with the organizer.

 

b. “Booth Confirmation” will be sent to the exhibitor when the organizer confirms its booth application. Exhibitors should fill in related documents in the Exhibitor Manual and submit to the organizer in time.

 

c. Booth will be selected by the exhibitors on a first come, first served basis according to the time of application. The organizer reserves the rights to further adjust the allocation plan as the case may be and the right of final interpretation with respect to the booths.

 

Article VI Booth Setup, Removal and Transportation

a. The exhibitors must finish the booth setup and removal according to the following schedule: 

Setup for Standard Booth: June 12, 2022, 08:30 - 16:30

Setup for Raw Space: June 11 - 12, 2022, 08:30 - 16:30

Exhibitors who are not able to complete the setup as per the schedule above shall pay the cost to the constructor on their own. All booths must complete the setup before 16:30 on June 12.

Removal starts from 16:00 and finishes before 21:00 on June 15, 2022. Exhibitors who are not able to complete the removal before 21:00 should pay the cost to the constructor on their own. All exhibitors must finish the removal before 24:00 on due date.

 

b. According to the security demands of the Shanghai Exhibition Center, exhibitors who rent raw space must provide booth plans with specified dimensions to the organizer 15 days before the setup. The organizer disclaims any responsibility and its consequences in case the exhibitor fails to provide such a plan in time. 

 

c. Exhibitors should be responsible for transporting the exhibits between the exhibition hall and the original storage location at their own expense.

 

Article VII Booth Badges

a. Complimentary Exhibitor badges and Market Guest badges will be distributed based on the type of booth rented, in accordance with the standard below.

For those who rent raw space, additional complimentary badges are provided based on the extra space rented over 36m2, according to the following rules: 4 complimentary badges per 10m2 of space increase, including 2 Exhibitor badges and 2 Market Guest badges.

 

b. For extra staff and visitors, online registration and payment within specified period or the purchase of Day Pass are required to gain entrance.

 

Article VIII Booth Configuration

The following equipment is included with the booth based on the type rented. Please refer to the Exhibitor Manual for the specific standard.

Article IX Market Administration

a. All exhibitors must follow the organizer's instructions regarding customs rules, trading, security, etc. 

 

b. Volume must be kept under 60db when audio equipment is used. The organizer reserves the right to prohibit exhibitors from using equipment in case such use produces adverse influences on the exhibition area or other exhibitors.

 

c. SIFF MARKET is scheduled for three days. No exhibitor is allowed to remove the booth from 9:00 on June 13, 2022 to 16:00 on June 15, 2022 without the organizer’s permission. 

   

Article X Badges and Accessibility 

a. All exhibitors must register to the organizer and carry the valid badges provided by organizer to enter the exhibition hall. 

 

b. Badges are subject to real name authentication and may not be transferred. The organizer reserves the right to expropriate the badge if anyone violates the rules.

 

Article XI Market Events Application

a. Any exhibitor who has rented raw space is eligible to apply for holding an on-site event within its exhibition space. Exhibitors must fill in the On-site Event Application Form included in the Exhibitor Manual and submit it to the organizer. They are required to abide by the relevant regulations and administration measures applicable to on-site events.

 

b. Exhibitors who intend to hold a marketing event may contact the organizer for detailed information about locations, charges, etc. Then they must fill in the Marketing Event Application Form included in the Exhibitor Manual and submit it to the organizer, and follow the relevant regulations and administration measures applicable to marketing events.

Article XIII Miscellaneous

a. The organizer is closely monitoring the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, and following the national policies for disease prevention and control. If measures need to be taken in scenarios regarding the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizer will comply and provide the latest updates as soon as possible.

 

b. This Regulation is drafted in Chinese and translated into English. In case of any conflict between the English version and the Chinese one, the Chinese version shall prevail.

 

c. The Shanghai International Film Festival Organizing Committee is responsible for revising and interpreting this Regulation, and is entitled to the final interpretation right thereof.
