Film Market Closed | Covering the Whole Industrial Chain Pushing Shooting Services Enabling the Co-p

The 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival Film Market officially closed today at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The three-day event attracted 313 exhibitors from home and abroad, including China, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Thailand and Serbia, among which 40% were from overseas, and nearly 10,000 Chinese and foreign professionals attended the exhibition and discussed cooperation. June 16, the opening day of the film market, the launching ceremony of the cooperation of the Yangtze River Delta film and television shooting base held in "Theme Pavilion of Yangtze River Delta Film and Television Shooting Base" officially announced the establishment of the Yangtze river delta film and television shooting service system, which made it more convenient for film and television crews to shoot in the Yangtze River Delta region and further promoted the high-quality development of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta. Zhou Huilin, member of Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, director of Propaganda Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee attended the launching ceremony. Hu Jingjun, deputy director of Propaganda Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, director of Shanghai Film Bureau , Wang Yayuan, deputy director of Propaganda Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee and deputy director of the municipal State Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Jiao Jianjun, executive vice minister of Propaganda Department of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, director of Jiangsu Film Bureau, Ge Xuebin, deputy minister of Publicity Department of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, Fan Ronghui, vice minister of the Publicity Department of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, Director of Anhui Provincial Film Bureau, and the leaders of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Pudong New Area Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Jing'an District, Putuo District, Minhang District, Songjiang District Administration of Culture and Tourism.

After the launch ceremony, city leaders also toured the film market. Today, as China moves from a big film country to a film power, the film market has strengthened the layout of the whole industry chain, with exhibitors covering film production, post production, distribution, marketing, education, investment, financing and service, and added "Theme Pavilion of Film Talent Training", "Theme Pavilion of Film Investment and Financing" and "Theme Pavilion of Yangtze River Delta Film and Television Shooting Base". In the theme pavilions of talent training, exhibitors from Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai Vancouver Film School, East China Normal University, Tongji University, and Shanghai Film Academy, Shanghai University to show their film talent training characteristics and teaching achievements, and even model makeup techniques on the spot. The theme pavilion of investment and financing invites financial people and film institution guests to hold industry salons, and tries to get through the communication channels between film production and financial funds.

"The international co-productions market" provides a cooperation platform for Chinese and foreign film producers to promote market transactions, during which excellent co-production projects from Greece, Russia, Italy and other countries were promoted. Vassilis Xiros, consul general of Greece in Shanghai held a roadshow for his project ONE DAY . It is known that Vassilis Xiros has found partners and investors to write and direct the film, which is about to be officially launched and aims to have its world premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival next year.

In line with the positioning of "A Foothold in Asia", the film market has specially organized "Focus on Iran" and "Focus on Thailand" theme days this year. Representatives of film production and distribution enterprises from Iran and Thailand and Chinese filmmakers gathered together to discuss new ideas for cooperation in the film industry. In the third year, "Belt and Road Theme Pavilion" still has country promotion activities, with Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries along the "Belt and Road" actively participating. At the same time, 3 to 4 market screening activities and salons will be added every day this year, which will greatly facilitate the domestic and foreign buyers to watch films in the film market and build a platform for filmmakers to understand the markets of various countries. "I really like the free exhibition environment and communication space here, and I can directly understand the film culture of different countries," the Thai filmmaker said in the interview.

"Shoot the Book! Shanghai" market activities have successfully carried out during the film market. It is jointly held by Shanghai International Film Festival, SCELF and French Cultural Center, aiming to promote Chinese and French literature works suitable for film adaptation to attract many people in the industry through the promotion and exchange meetings to build a bridge from books to films.
